Oneplus are a bold, unconventional firm that is seeking to take the consumer electronics market by storm. Their slogan sums up their ambitions perfectly.

The young company is doing just that. Founded in December 2013, Oneplus aims to balance high-end quality with a lower price than other phones in its class. The phone is standout from competitors for two primary reasons.
The immediately obvious unique selling point of the device is the eye-catching price: £179 for the 16gb model, and a measly £219 for the 64gb version. At that price, it is no wonder consumers are flocking to purchase one leaving stock shelves empty at the firm’s warehouses.
The second prominent feature of the phone is CyanogenMod (CM). For those not familiar with the name, CM is a smartphone and tablet operating system that is open-source, meaning users can unleash the full capabilities of their device. If you love spending hours customising your phone like myself, this will be music to your ears.
CM also differs from official firmware as it allows for CPU overclocking, amazing right? BUT, if you’re not familiar with the technical aspects of performance enhancement, I would advise against it as it's both tricky and can even damage the phone in some instances.
So, on to the second coming of the almighty ‘flagship killer’.
Word on the grape vine is that the handset will have an improved design with a sold metal finish which is always a good indicator of a quality built phone. In terms of appearance, the handset will get a complete makeover. According to Oneplus CEO, the latest handset will set you back approximately $400 (£257) which is still excellent value.
Rumors are that the screen size will be slightly reduced and included in the small price will be a USB Type-C port. To technicalities, the Oneplus Two is said to have an upgraded 4gb of RAM and a Snapdragon 810 CPU under its hood. For software, it’s uncertain if the Chinese manufacturer will continue to partner with CyanogenMod, however, all will be revealed soon...
